The given site for the new municipal library appears to be lost:
the garden is not a garden anymore and the square seems to be just an empty space, without scale or program, almost abandoned.

The proposal sought to answer to the library’s program but also to the city. While placing the building as a loose object, division and hierarchy were created.

The car parking was limited by a white wall and the garden got a grassy area around the old fountain. The library would be almost autistic and live from its geometry. With a circular plan, each floor would be divided into four equal parts with the accesses located in the center. All spaces would be artificially led, with occasional round windows for exterior views. The structure would allow that no pillars would be needed in the middle of the rooms, assuring them versatility. At the top, the reading room space would be exceptional, as a large pantheon.

This open space would be under a big dome reflecting on the outside the grand interior space. Light and geometry define the building.
