In the constellation as an integral part of the university campus the new building can be read in different ways: on the hand as a mediator, on the other as an object-like, free-standing building. Through two parallel cuts the volume is manipulated in such a way that each of the sides engages in a relationship with its particular context. The new structure is conceived as an industrial building. Slightly projecting ceiling slabs on the upper floors shape the architectural expression. The plasticity of the aluminium/glass facade is accentuated by differently modeled balconies. We want to make a strongly expressive frame within which alterations can be flexibly made.

The editorial offices with the studios, the administration, and restaurant facilities are distributed on three floors. The radically open spatial landscape consists of work platforms that are layered above each other in different configurations, creating a terraced interior. The intention is also to give the RTS headquarters a strongly public character by the graduated opening of rooms, foyers and the internal circulation to the public realm.
