Food and culture

Man aspires to create his own unique food. This unique food is intrinsic to culture. The same basic products can be transformed into exotic dishes when they are cooked. Man transforms these products through the use of fire and elaborate technology. Food impacts culture further when consumed. For that reason, the food is set as an decisive element of human identity and as one of the most effective tools to communicate.

The new food market of Roquetas de Mar is located between the countryside, the city and the sea. It is a meeting place of knowledge between these three different cultures and environments. It is a gate to the city; a place to trade products as well as prepare and cook food. We are what we eat and how we cook.
