The new residences’ construction area is located at the entrance of Meyrin, in a key point for the town’s public space. The scale and limits of the intervention require a design sensitive to the quality of the surrounding landscape.

The program is split into two volumes, making possible to reduce the scale of the project and get closer to the language of the hystorical crossroad of Meyrin. The fragmentation makes the new system, made of paths and courtyards which open up between the buildings, more readable, making the public fabric permeable and similar to rural villages.

The planimetric and volumetric morphology is articulated in a way similar to the adjacent historic buildings; the rhythm of the existing pitched roofs with alternating orientation continues in the new buildings; the fold in the main facade echoes the old texture of the fields still readable in the actual urban fabric.
