The project for new headquarter for Industrial Companies in Mendrisio (AIM) and warehouse consists in a rectangular building 87,4X19,2m plan size and a new bridge crane which is positioned perpendicular to the main building. The building is made by a dual structure: the strucural facade and a prefabricated ‘internal’ system necessary to divide all the main spaces .

The south side is occupied by the main offices located on two levels: on ground floors there are customers hall, changing rooms and warehouse office; on first floor are located all the administrative buildings. In the central part of the building is located a two level warehouse strictly connected to the bridge crane area on north.

The complex of this building is built on a modular design that is declined with a facade project that reflects and interprets, with big triangle frames, the AIM logo and plays on the frequency of its constituent elements. This ‘ trinagle-motive’ becomes more frequent in the space occupied by the warehouse and finally acquires the maximum frequency in the spaces occupied by the offices.

These different frequencies into a single body represents the essence of the project, but also to know how to grasp the change in keeping pace with the times and with the surrounding context. The ‘face’ of AIM will be the face and repetitive rhythm that signals its presence in the territory. The materials used are very simple and draw from modern architectural tradition that characterizes the surrounding context. The facades are divided into weight-bearing portion (triangular portals) and transparent and opaque curtain walls.
