The project defines the relationship between the city of Ostende and the sea.

Rather than focusing solely on the coast line which divides the inland sea, the project emphasizes the concept of «surface.» A network / mesh characterized by precise and linear elements (such as bike paths, walking, lighting systems, green rows, piers, etc) dropped above the city structure. This action is able to recreate those connections between sea and hinterland lost because of the urban development during the second half of 9th century

As a kind of «surgery» intervention the project was developed just in some trigger points of the city to give a consistency and a structure able to restore identity to the entire territoy.
