The new operation of roads and road center in the city of Nyon is located in the southern boundary of the project site. A peripheral circulation ensures optimal access to the building and the various storage areas as well as for other activities located outside of the city. The western part of the site is treated as a porous grass area with native trees.

The building of the new center is a synthesis between the program and site. It seeks to translate programmatic data through a volume that maintains multiple relationships with its environment. The volume of the new center takes advantage of the characteristics required such as multiple height levels as part of the project. This strategy of juxtaposition specific «programmatic strata» also minimizes heat losses in temperate areas and cold rooms acting as buffer zones. The relative compactness of the spatial strategy provides natural light through long glass strips.

The upper part of the building faces the highway in order to establish a strained relationship with it, reflecting a belonging to a certain kinship. This allows for a measured dialogue with the northern building, STEP.

The main entrance is located on the west side in order to facilitate its relationship with the parking of private vehicles and visitors as well as for the waste. Heated spaces for employees are directly related to the input. Located on the first floor, the heated spaces have a certain functional autonomy and enjoy a view of the landscape.

Generating multiple relationships with its newly developed environment, the project seeks to build bridges between the various entities present and reinterprets a somewhat rocky distant landscape.
