The city of Wilnsdorf near Siegen in Germany intends to build a new elementary school with a singlefile hall on a sloped plot in the forest. We propose a compact structure with three floors for both uses.

Children and teachers enter der building from the north into the ground floor. All the public areas, the canteen and the administration are located on this floor. The heart of the building ist the central auditorium with the staircase.

From here the children can look into all the other parts of the building. Most spectacular is the view into the sports hall which is located in the garden level. The classrooms are arranged in four clusters which are symmetrically arranged on the floor plan.

A hybrid construction with a concrete skeleton in the ground floor and a prefabricated timber construction on the classroom floors and the roof is used to achieve an economical and fast building process.
