TIC is the design for the Campanhã Bus Terminal, in Porto. Conceptually the project is rooted to a void connected to the existing tunnel comming from the subway station. This pivotal place results into a square that articulates all the different areas inside the Terminal.
The programmatic synthesis in this core results in a triangular-shaped volume, whose principle of intervention evokes the logic present in several european stations of the 19th century. The intention is to set a gesture characterized by a conceptual, typological and structural clarity. Therefore the building is marked by the expressiveness and simplicity of the concrete, assuming its mark while skin and structure.
The building is complemented by a green platform where the access and internal road circuits are defined. A shaded area with direct relation with the interior spaces, and of great importance in the urban landscape on the southern side of the site, also working as a filter.
