The project starts from de illusory capacity of the mirror, a capable element of being a surprise in itself.  It functions from the creation of mirages which concern directly to what appears to be. Starting from a tangible reality, what surrounds us, the mirror can create a new reality, to multiply the existing one and transform it. The mirror is the support, but is something that is not at the same time: is the reflecting sky, the window, the courtain or the planter.

Placing a mirror has intrinsic temporary modification of the place where it’s placed. The patio with mirrors will never be again the same patio.

And with this premise of mirage and surprise starts the installation “tournearound”.

The project seeks to revalue the place through the use of a mirror. To multiply and triple in a chained way, details, spaces and forms. Achieve the most closely relationship with the place where the installation takes place. To do this, we focus on the placement of a series of telescopic mirrors, which like sunflowers, they can mutate, blend with what surrounds them; the interior walls of the patio, the floor, the front door, the piece of sky which cuts roofs, the inside emerging through the windows… Creating a fantasy inside the patio, where reality and reflect get mixed to find surprise.

As if it was a chameleon, the installation is capable of changing its appearance constantly, adapting at all times to what is happening. Sunflowers and mirrors are acting only as a catalyst for establishing relations between the patio and its visitors, affecting favorably the reaction environment. The installation “tournearound” doesn’t intend to be an element in itself, but that necessary ingredient to change reality and turn it into surprise.

The installation “tournearound” intends, at the same time, convert surprise in something dynamic, able to mutate, by interacting with the visitor.

The introduction a new variable, more social, of participation, interaction with the installation, allows to give the surprise a new interactive dimension. Transform it into something more complex, able to happen and, at the same time, to be created. Then the visitor becomes the author, the creator of a new reality; his own reality.

Introducing a portion of field of sunflowers inside the patio serves as thread for the proposal. Evoke the close relationship that the sunflower maintains with the sun; and how this symbiotic relationship can be extrapolated, in this case, to the mirror and the patio.

Playing with the improvisation factor, is now the visitor who can turn the “tournearound” looking for the best view, the most curious detail, or the brighter ray of light. Avoiding rigidity and promoting interaction with the curious. The installation is reinvented every day, starting from state 0 and mutating throughout the day, being the final result, the amount of will and the ability to be surprised of its visitors.

The patio finally becomes a big periscope, a set of mirrors that allows observe what surrounds us from a different location to the expected.
