Affordable Collective Housing António do Couto is a thrid prize competition entry by co·rp arquitectos developed in 2023. It is located in Lisboa Portugal in an urban setting. Its scale is medium with a surface of 2.700 sqm a budget of 3.800.000 € and a ratio of 1.407 €/sqm. Key materials are ceramic and concrete. Operavisual collaborated as visualizer.

The proposed implantation dignifies and protects the public space, allowing it to become a community point of great intensity and public quality. The building allows a permeability of use in commercial and public spaces. The parking has its destined place in a single basement floor, along with the storages, speeding up the construction costs and optimizing its areas. Its access is on the western edge of the lot, optimizing the public space to the east.

The first floor is thus demarcated by the counterpoint to the volumetry of the building, allowing the free movement of residents and citizens as if it were a roundabout in this strategic point of the city. Here are implanted spaces for commerce and services, technical spaces and bicycle parking. Denoting at the top this a commercial space of restoration that contributes to a square of more public character and open to the city and in relation to the adjacent lot.
