Amélioration énergétique de l'ensemble Contenot-Decaen à Paris 12 is a proposal by Cathrin Trebeljahr developed in 2020. It is located in Paris France in an urban setting. Its scale is large with a surface of 31.438 sqm a budget of 21.000.000 € and a ratio of 668 €/sqm. Key materials are ceramic and concrete.

At the heart of a large private garden stand four towers of twelve floors, while five bars structure the park in its periphery. The 485 units are based on a huge landscaped base. This is how the Contenot-Decaen islet is characterized, a heritage of town planning in the 1950s, a remarkable site in the spectacle of nature that it offers to all its inhabitants, in the heart of Paris.

Our mission concerns:

– the treatment of the exterior facades, exterior joinery and roof, make the whole more receptive to its environment, enhance the existing landscape and reduce the visual massive occupancy of the buildings. Our work will focus on the doorways of openings, a capable interface between housing and the external environment, plinths and gables. We want to use the reflective properties of aluminum combined with that of glazed ceramic, to allow a facade sensitive to variations in light, the presence of plants, the city, the weather. Metal does not exactly replicate what it reflects but offers an abstract recomposition on its surface of a new landscape.

– replacement of landing doors to improve insulation.

– modification of the heating system to a steam pump (P.A.V.E). The P.A.V.E is an innovative heating system, with high energy performance and high environmental impact.

– the installation of a new mechanical ventilation system.
