The construction of the sports centre for the town of Argoños represents a unique opportunity to improve and reactivate the existing site and to make a positive contribution to the community of Argoños. The building strives to integrate seamlessly into its surroundings and create it in turn. Starting from the reference of the architecture of the fair, which takes place on the site where we are located, and the traditional constructions of the region of Argoños, we began to plan the building. This gave rise to the idea of generating a simple volume that would be somewhat fictitious, but at the same time linked to the place and its architecture. Almost like a box in the process of being assembled, the skin of the building opens or closes to adapt to the needs of the environment and the programme. It responds to the town both on an imaginary level, as all the buildings in Argoños have sloping planes in warm, ceramic colours, and on a functional level, as the gestures of the façade create porch-like spaces that lead into the interior of the building and create a small open-air refuge.
