The building inhabits the campus as a bold statement of its time. In homage to the existing building of Fritz Haller and Albert Zulauf, the new proposal uses the same structural principles and are following the same proportions as the rest of the campus. We believe that this is what we as architects must provide to the already strict and clear master plan of Fritz Haller. Duplex works with a minimal square footprint within the perimeter and the strong orthogonal grid, including a School and a Double Sportshall. The new building has a dialog with the old buildings and creates a new strong campus space for the students in-between the new building and the rest of the campus. The positioning of the new building makes a strong rhythm of introvert and extrovert spaces.
