Earth pavilion is a proposal by Brito.Rodriguez designed in 2012. It is located in Taft TX United States in a countryside setting. Its scale is small. Key material is stone. Concepts such as underground and zenithal light are explored.

Alternating rows of cotton fields are characterized by a flat topography, revealing the horizontality of a territory. Within these natural settings and the layers of the rural landscape, is a place that emphasizes the inherent qualities of the area. An intimate linear space is embraced and articulated by mass, hidden and protected inside the solidity of walls. It is an emptiness where matter and idea are experienced directly while engaging with the natural surces, depth and weight of the earth.
