Extension & Refurbishment of Notre-Dame des Oiseaux highschool is a proposal by Fayolle Pilon Architectes and Bien Urbain for Lycée Notre-Dame des Oiseaux designed in 2016. It is located in Paris France in an urban setting. Its scale is medium. Key material is stone. Concepts such as party wall and extension are explored.

The project has a major multifunctionnal issue, with a complex programmatical superposition. In a dense urban context, an underground sport field, a refectory on the ground floor, a library for the first floor and classrooms and laboratories for the upper floors are planned. The architecture is a part of a double tradition, both formal, in an neighborhood with a strong identity which has to to be respected, and human with the legacy of the Pierre Fourier – Alix le Clerc foundation. We claim qualities of simplicity, restraint and durability, while expressing the human values of the institution. Masonry is reinterpreted in a contemporary way, set both in the windows design and in the general volume.
