Faro de Murro di Porco is a second prize proposal by Sevak Asatrián Álvaro Olivares Esther Sanchis and Eduardo Sancho for Young Architects Competitions designed in 2016. It is located in Isola Italy in a seaside setting. Its scale is medium. Key materials are concrete and stone. Review the 6 proposals for the same competition.

The spectacular landscape invites one to stay, to carry out the minimum possible intervention to adapt it to the human use. A set of volumes born from the lines of the existing lighthouse are proposed, to showcase it in aim to allow the architecture and Murro di Porco’s enviroment to become a unique place. The project seeks the coalescence of existing buildings using the landscape as a resource. Previous paths, drawn by human steps, are kept and tamed and new volumes that frame the sea and the existing architecture are set along it. Thermal baths are outlined as the final stage of the itinerary, which would mean the greatest link between the landscape and the visitor through the water element. The aim of the new hotel is to act as an interlude, an element that achieves to join the parts in a whole to reach a unique experience.
