On a steep sloping plot in the Jämtland mountains in northern Sweden, plans are ongoing for this contemporary timber house.

Set in an environment prone to heavy snow and rain, the brief asked for a solution to protect the building from meltwater and ice. The resulting two-storey building rests on a set of stilts adapted to the slanted terrain, gently hovering above ground, and letting water flow freely underneath.

The top floor layout places entrance hall, guestroom and bathroom at the back of the building allowing for a spacious social room at the front with 180 views of the surrounding lake and mountains. The lower floor contains a private quarter including bedroom and spa.
