House for a pharmacist is a proposal by Giuseppe Parisi developed in 2019. It is located in San Nicola Arcella Italy in an undefined setting. Its scale is small with a surface of 205 sqm. Key material is concrete.

The house is located in a predominantly green area away from the center of San Nicola Arcella, in Calabria.

The land consists of a flat area with many trees of different varieties, therefore it is thought to create a multi-storey residence that has a privileged view of the countryside.

The project is entirely made of exposed concrete with a few different elements in wood and metal or industrial polycarbonate for the barriers as to recall at the same time a basic but brutal image.

The house has been carefully positioned in a private lot with a perimeter garden with a few shrubs and oriented towards the midday sun with large sliding windows on tracks that change the facade according to the needs of the users. Few smaller openings are made on the remaining sides only where needed.

The plan starts from a 10×10 square and all floors follow a precise distribution grid. The system is clear and precise, on the ground floor there is a large living room / study level with the garden, on the first floor there is the large open-plan kitchen and on the second floor the sleeping area with its own services.

The section of the house is characterised by a triple height that brings light to the ground floor and a staircase that is positioned on the edge.

The house opens to the landscape on all levels, on the ground floor a setback allows the creation of an open covered space.
