The upgrading of Trygve Lies Plass aims to revitalize this place, so that it can be a square that allows social interaction among citizens.

The square and the adjacent public green work together to define a path where urban pedestrian is the priority. In fact, most of the proposed volumes host the required parking for bikes and at the same time they delimit the urban daily life. The bus stop has the same architectural language to make a relationship with the square. The paving of the square is defined by hexagonal modules. This geometric rigor is broken by the buildings. Pitched roofs are used to recall in human mind the norwegian vernacular architecture. Also they have been designed to have an optical function that guide the look of the viewer at the center of the square.

Citizens and tourists, coming from Søren Bulls Veii, will immediately discover the heart of Trygve Lies Plass. The square defines a calm atmosphere where everyone could feel part of the urban context and culture where it is immersed. Hence the term “hygge”, from the Danish culture. Be comfortable with others, with ourself within the city or the neighborhood where we live.
