Kemeri Park offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience a preserved landscape characterised by diverse nature and wetland.

The approach for the new visitor centre is a metaphor of the boardwalk path unique to the park. The path which starts in the carpark, continues through the building, extends into the forest and finally approaches the endless fields of Kemeri Park. There it freely rambles around the wetlands.

All the stages of the trail have different atmospheres.

From the beginning they gently change the context of the city and built environment into the context of the beautiful and expansive nature.

The visitor center building is a gateway of this path guiding to the landscape. Within the structure the person is led through the clear circuation. Starting in the spacious entrance zone with the cafe area, it transforms into the aisle of pillars with the light cascading only from the skylight above.

This moment is an intended contrast of what the visitor experiences a few minutes later in the Park. There the visitor’s focus will be on the limitless landscape, here on themselves. After this short walk the visitor is directed to the second room with an exhibition and infomation about the park. Again from there the single opening in the wall frames the users way to the forest path where the next experience begins.
