☉ La Maison des Avalins is a winning proposal by Reiulf Ramstada and Odile + Guzy Architectes for Mairie de Val d’Isère designed in 2024. It is located in Val-d'Isère France in a mountain and urban setting. Its scale is medium with a surface of 3.200 sqm. Key materials are stone and wood. Jeudi Wang collaborated as visualizer.
Our proposal, in collaboration with Odile + Guzy Architectes, won the competition for a public landmark in the world-known ski resort of Val d’Isère in France. The building will be located at the foot of the resort, looking up to the Face de Bellevarde, home to the yearly World Cup downhill race. The mixed-use building will contain, among other things, a community center for the village, a multipurpose hall, the home of the prestigious Club des Sports de Val d’Isère as well as a public restaurant. More than just a building, la Maison des Avalins is designed to be a cultural landmark, where sport, history, tradition, and community converge.
