Monolith is an academic project by Martynas Degutis developed in 2019. It is located in Pfungstadt Germany in an urban setting. Its scale is medium with a surface of 3.000 sqm. Key material is concrete.

The design of the new Town Hall is also determined by the urban context and the architectural language, which can be identified in the small-scale development with its gabled roof form. The development history of the planned site also testifies to a courtyard structure built up with individual houses with gabled roofs, with gables facing Borngasse Street, which led to the main idea of taking into account the small-scale structure and updating the arrangement of the gables in order to maintain the silhouette of the townscape. This courtyard structure was adopted to create five buildings which, when placed side by side, form an abstract monolith.
