Museo del Tartufo di Alba e Montà d'Alba is a second prize competition entry by Fernweh Architettura and Lorenzo Greppi developed in 2018. It is located in Cuneo Italy in an urban setting. Its scale is medium with a surface of 1.400 sqm a budget of 4.000.000 € and a ratio of 2.857 €/sqm. Key materials are ceramic and concrete.

The project aims to narrate the World of the White Truffle by discovering and exploring it as a cultural and historical value.

The exhibition takes place in two different museum spaces, one located in Alba and the other one in Montà d’Alba.

There, truffle is displayed as a significant experience of taste and pleasure, astonishment and curiosity, entertainment and knowledge.

One particular and coherent concept is therefore developed and shaped according to the specific aspects of each space.

Truffle is described in its full complexity as a symbol of prestige and desire, as a natural phenomena, as a product of a unique environment, as an image of conviviality, as an exclusive food to be found at rich banquets all over the world.
