☉ Natural Park Visitor Centre is a fourth prize proposal by Nuvolab developed in 2015. It is located in Naturno Italy in a rural setting. Its scale is small with a surface of 570 sqm. Key material is wood. The concept of broken volume is explored.
The position and the orientation proposed for the new visitor center seeks primarily a good visibility from the main road, easy access and a coherent integration systems with the environmental system by the adjacent regulation water basin. The site plan is based on these objectives and consists of two slipped volumes forming two distinct areas: a square facing south as a filter space between the road and the access to the center and the north area for parking and side entrances. The building volumetrically reflects the slippage in plan and consists of two buildings of different height in which the highest part assumes the role of visual reference for the visitors. The architectural image, characterized by a volume articulated that evokes the character of local buildings, will be embellished with an outer wooden coating warp with a different design for the facade for the exhibition grounds and for the reception.
