Public spaces in Colombes is a finalist proposal by MIAS Architects designed in 2010. It is located in Paris France in an urban setting. Its scale is large with a surface of 17.000 sqm an estimated budget of 2.000.000 € and a ratio of 118 €/sqm. Key materials are vegetal and metal. The concept of nature is explored.

This urban scale intervention must identify the place and turn it to a centralized space respect the metropolitan area. It is an offer for an ambitious place respect the place that occupies in the territory, of its centrality and importance in relation to the peripheral territory of Paris; it is like “wanting to be” in order that, immediately afterwards, this new reality gives meaning and probably a new name to the place. We need that the intervention qualifies the urban space in a clear way, because of this, the unusual and even provocative intensity in which we act. The project proposes a city scale intervention, in the crossing of Boulevard Charles de Gaulle and Rue Gabriel Peri and in relation to both squares Place Louis Aragon and Place Victor Basch; and a more domestic scale intervention, in the public spaces mentioned before and also in the Square Victor Basch gardens.
