☉ Renewal of a square and castle surroundings is a second prize proposal by Albert Clèries and Joaquim Mulà designed in 2011. It is located in Aledo Spain in an old town setting. Its scale is large. The concept of pavimentation is explored.
A project based on removing instead of adding. Small adjustments were designed to the existent architecture to facilitate public use and accessibility. The project also involved the removal of all the obstacles and the excess of slopes, and the reestablishment of a unitary surface. New trees were planted in groups to provide comfort shady spaces.
