☉ Riga Philharmonic is a thrid prize proposal by Finkelstein Turek and Efrat Kowalsky for Riga Philharmonic designed in 2023. It is located in Riga Latvia in a park setting. Its scale is large with a surface of 30.000 sqm. Key materials are stone and wood. Play-Time collaborated as visualizer.
Transforming the Riga Congress Centre into the new Riga Concert Hall. The proposal seamlessly blends Soviet-era charm with contemporary vision. Dolomite stones align the façade, preserving the original materiality, while large windows invite public engagement with the Kronvalda Park and Pilsetas Kanals. A modern rear extension, echoing the kanals’ sinuosity creates a park walkway. Internally, curved sculpt balconies, blend with the exterior’s design. A harmonious fusion of history and visual acoustics.
