Sleeping Veranda is an honour mention competition entry by Pietro Dardano for Vale de Moses Yoga Retreat in 2021. It is located in Vale de Moses Portugal in a forest setting. Its scale is extrasmall with a surface of 18 sqm. Key material is wood. Review the 2 proposals for the same competition.

Sleeping Veranda represents a filter between external and internal space, day and night, between natural and artificial world. It is an intimate and protected space, simple but comfortable, able to establish changeable relationships with the context, capable of opening up completely or closing in on itself. A discreet and authentic construction that wants to enhance the existing, rather than impose itself with its novelty. Sleeping Veranda is a flexible typological system suitable for any type of steep terrain but it is designed specially to communicate with the Vale de Moses and the surrounding hills.
