Smøla School is a proposal by Reiulf Ramstada developed in 2015. It is located in Møre og Romsdal Norway in a rural setting. Its scale is small. Key material is wood.

The project emphasizes a solution with strong visual qualities in both outdoor facilities and the main building structure, by applying the site’s sensuous potential the project can help to stimulate and support the child’s positive experience and joy in relation to everyday teaching. The main objective of this design is to create a safe environment where everyone feel included, combined with group activities in different zones of the structure.
The materials reflect upon the surrounding landscape and the historic building heritage of Smøla municipality. Throughout the project the simple palette with durable materials are easy to clean and maintain.
