☉ Suisse embassy in Seoul is a proposal by Brune Architekten designed in 2012. It is located in Seoul South Korea in a high density setting. Its scale is medium. Key material is concrete. The concept of lattice is explored.
A house that represents Switzerland in Korea can connect the influence of Swiss architecture with Korean traditions – they encounter within the fascination of clarity, artisanry and consciousness of tradition. The design for the Swiss embassy in Seoul unites the principles of locality and origin in clear spatial relations. The home of the ambassador and the embassy are buildings of the same size and symmetrically mirrored to the edge that joins both buildings -creating a sense of centre and belonging. Motives of Korean ornaments originate the characteristic appearance of the building.
