☉ Suspended playground in the courtyard of the oldest School Group of Montpellier is a proposal by NAS Architecture for City of Montpellier designed in 2016. It is located in Montpellier France in an urban setting. Its scale is medium with a surface of 1.500 sqm. Key material is metal. Concepts such as refurbishment and usable roof are explored.
Louis Figuier – Victor Hugo Group School must evolve to meet the current needs of the institution. By targeting interventions, the interior will offer new playful areas with access up to standard. The biggest challenge was outside. The court needed to be enlarged as well as access to the corridors. The existing yard had to be demolished. Therefore we thought it was important to link all needs, even to propose new ones. The creation of a suspended playground, that link all levels of the school group, can be use as a new educational garden designed for the practice of Biology while offering shaded area on the lower level. The whole set unify the space outside, restoring an identity to the school.
