The project consists on two houses for two brothers who wanted to have their private areas but also a common area. The land is situated in front of the Durrat al Arous beach in Saudi Arabia. The climate in this area is extremely hot especially in summer. Whereupon we considered several ideas that could allow the house withstand better these extreme temperatures.

The terrain has three plots, the main idea, as we had a large area, was attempting to project the two houses on one floor, each would place in one of the side plots, and the central plot would stand the common areas. Another important decision was to cover most of the central area so that would generate a large open space, protected from solar radiation. In this space area placed a barbecue area, a bar, an outside dining and an outside living area.

Later we begin to locate some courtyards, indoor and outdoor, covered by slats, that not only help us to distribute the spaces, they also create a natural ventilation and cooling stays, thanks to the plants and water sheets.

A white ribbon runs around the front of the house and courtyards, the rest of the facade and the flooring, is projected as a clear natural stone, so both materials will mitigate heat absorbed.

The cover poses with aluminum slats that protect it from direct sunlight and prevent a source of constant heat radiation into the interior of the housing, reducing the energy consumption of air conditioners and comfort of homes increases. In front of both houses raises the open spaces, to enjoy the garden, the beach, the pool and the sun in the tempered days.
