Varna Regional Library is a proposal by L’Atelier SENZU for Varna Municipality in 2015. It is located in Varna Bulgaria in an urban setting. Its scale is medium with a surface of 8.600 sqm. Key materials are glass and metal. Review the 2 proposals for the same competition.

The library is shaped by programmatic massing stacked on top of each other to get aligned with the context. Each program is independent to perform accordingly to their users and needs.

The first one function as a tower to give intimacy and amazing views towards the black sea. The second ones are grouped together around two voids to generate a big gathering space.

This condition allows also an easy supervision for the parents. The facade are designed with one element and each massing has its own grid according to their needs in terms of natural light.

The copper unify the building to generate a new attractive building for the city of Varna.
