Vernier school and gymnasium is a proposal by L’Atelier SENZU for City of Vernier in 2016. It is located in Vernier Switzerland in a urbanization setting. Its scale is medium with a surface of 9.500 sqm. Key materials are glass and stone. Concepts such as circle shape terrace and opening are explored.

The building intended to receive the habitants of a new district in a post-industrial site, our project fits into a multifaceted urban fabric. Our proposal responds initially to the optimum layout of a public space characterized by accommodating several uses. It is these uses that define the project. The three-part division of the program allows us to prioritize the needs of a building and to design a system that responds effectively to the functioning required by the program. Two pedestals designed to accommodate two public facilities and a nursery organize the public space. In height, the primary school with its two playgrounds makes it possible to operate independently.
