Affordable Collective Housing in Largo do Cabeço da Bola is a winning proposal by co·rp arquitectos for IHRU Instituto da Habitação e da Reabilitação Urbana, I.P. in 2023. It is located in Lisboa Portugal in an urban setting. Its scale is medium with a surface of 1.500 sqm a budget of 3.500.000 € and a ratio of 2.333 €/sqm. Key materials are ceramic and concrete. Operavisual collaborated as visualizer.

The implantation of the new building (N1) consolidates the idea of the neighborhood already enunciated by the building to be rehabilitated (N2), allowing for the creation of a community point of great intensity and public quality. The building allows for permeability of use in circulation and community spaces. The parking space is on the street, as required in the program. The storage rooms are located in the basement, reducing construction costs and optimizing their areas. They can be accessed from the western edge of the plot, and can also be entered from the patio.

The first floor is thus demarcated by the counterpoint to the volume of the building, allowing residents and citizens to circulate freely as if it were a roundabout. This is where community spaces, technical spaces and bicycle parking are located. The constitution of the building makes it possible to create a tapering off of access to the galleries, which is then relieved in a large and generous patio that appears in counterpoint to the building.
