Competition for a rehabilitation clinic with a spa and a hotel in Sevelen, St Gallen. The competition also includes the planning of residential buildings in part of the development area.

The project proposal establishes a new relationship with the ground by maximizing the permeable surfaces of the land and by leaving the ground as intact as possible. The site becomes a living and dynamic climatic agent, allowing for natural water management in a resilient environment. As a pole of biodiversity and freshness, the site is reinforced in its structuring function of the ecological network of the Alpenrheintal.

The aim is to provide an architectural response by subtly interfering in a very disparate built environment, adapting to the decomposed morphology of the southern part of Rans. The discontinuity of the built fronts along the edges of the street contribute to a good integration of the whole program in a heterogeneous context, not interfering with the natural behavior of wind, water, flora and fauna.

A new relationship with the ground is established by maximizing permeable surfaces and open space. The project promotes natural and circular water management taking advantage of the filtration, retention and restitution capacity of the site. The new landscaped campus provides the village with a dynamic ecosystem that is resilient to both drought and heavy rain.
