Ossuary of Villeurbanne is a proposal by Collection Architectes for Municipality of Villeurbanne in 2022. It is located in Villeurbanne France in a riverside and urban setting. Its scale is small with a surface of 700 sqm. Key materials are vegetal and concrete.

The former historic cemetery is characterized by its heritage and landscape identity. To integrate the ossuary and make it part of the cemetery, we proposed an approach driven by the desire to create a link between building and landscape. The landscape structures the site by continuing the composition of the ancient cemetery. The pine-lined cruciform walkways extend and create the new garden of recollection.

The ossuary is entirely buried and invisible except for the large mineral facade that stretches from north to south of the plot, forming a line in the landscape. To the south of the plot, facing the entrance gate from the cemetery, a light pergola delicately placed on the wall shelters shaded benches for visitors wishing to meditate in the garden of remembrance.
