Both routes to school, from the north via Vörstetter Straße and from the east via Alte Bundesstraße, lead to the two recessed, protected entrance areas of the school building. From this center, where the cafeteria is located, the heart of the school, the children can distribute themselves into the three learning houses. The ground floor opens to the east towards the green schoolyard. Green seating steps adapt to and accommodate the existing topography. Also located here are the running track and the small playing field for sporting activities as well as an area for gardening with raised beds and open spaces for playing and running around. For larger events, the ground floor can also be expanded into the outdoor area.
