The sport facility takes place behind a school on the edge of the town, where urbanization ends and the countryside begins, along the departmental road and a huge car park. It’s the place for sports meetings; those of schoolboys and girls, local associations, competitions and their spectators. Its volume is a cylinder of white plaster, independent of the hybrid context while offering a singular and identifiable presence. It’s centred on its use, or more precisely the collection of its uses: multi-sports hall, dojo, changing and sanitary rooms and attached facilities, covered canopy and reception hall adjoining a planted patio, storage. Each interior is treated according to its specific requirements, technical, dimensional, in terms of material or colour, thermal or acoustic comfort. The juxtaposition of these differences makes them particularly readable while building up a playful experience, that of sport.
