Laboratório da Faculdade de Arquitectura UP is an academic project by Ana Rita Vale developed in 2014. It is located in Oporto Portugal in a park setting. Its scale is medium. Key materials are glass and metal.

The building is located near the limits of the current Faculty’s premises. The program asked for careful reflection since the site is heavily dominated by road infrastructure and other university buildings, whose unity and resolution has yet been left unsolved.

Through its mirrored facade the building tries to communicate with the two main architecture buildings: the old house — Casa do Gólgota —and the contemporary “Carlos Ramos Pavilion” designed by the architect Álvaro Siza.
