The project takes the form of an excavation in the archaeological site of Almendres, Portugal. A ramp cut into the ground leads down into the cultural centre, which takes light from a large courtyard located in front of the main spaces. An enclosed service block divides these spaces from the exhibition rooms, which are lit by a skylight.
