Close to the aviation infrastructure RER A which crosses the landscape and gives it direction, the project site of the new Lycée Emily Brontë has all the characteristics of suburban paradigm. It is surrounded by buildings of disparate elements (blocks or generic subdivisions), public spaces lived in search (plazas, sidewalks, driveways), a unsufficiently marked to structure the landscape topography (5m from bottom to top parcel). Added to this inventory a network of fences scarified territory, underlines the enclaves and makes difficult the relationship of any new project to its limits. Nevertheless, this landscape is rich by his teachings and the potential it offers, in that it is a place / landscape archetypal witnessed the France of the 21st century.
In this extended suburbs, the mosaic of morphologies which are juxtaposed, styles which succeed, creates a «linear strip» where the buildings blend into images morph at the metropolitan level. Poetry is there. The means to «do» also by alternating singular objects of the city and voids between them. The project belongs to these territories which give the tools to design in a serene freedom, school equipment as we present here; ie a duality combining belonging and anchor soil that is looking for and the presence of the unique architectural and symbolic object that fits into the development of the city of Lognes
