☉ Multifunctional Hub in Collepasso is a proposal by DENARA developed in 2023. It is located in Collepasso Italy in an undefined setting. Its scale is medium with a surface of 1.109 sqm. Key materials are concrete and metal. Giacomo Tampelli collaborated as visualizer.
The redevelopment of the marginal industrial area of the town of Collepasso has been implemented in several moves. The first is the creation of a new multifunctional centre characterized by three prefabricated elements: a large open space, a flexible space capable of hosting large events of neighbouring companies such as assemblies, conventions, but also Christmas dinners or launches of new products on the market; a second element smaller in size, functional, furnished, for co-working or private meetings.
The multifunctional centre features a third element: a large metal pergola supported by knee-high honeycomb beams on a colonnade of reinforced concrete plinths. The latter overhangs the two prefabs and provides shelter to a hidden, introverted, exotic evergreen garden and a terrace accessible by an exterior staircase. The solar panel superstructure also covers the vertical part of the small prefab to the south and gives an energetically sustainable vision to the whole new area.
The whole project then, however, materializes into a large urban park characterized by many elements. The fil-rouge is a bicycle and pedestrian link from the city to the PIP area, cutting it diagonally from north to south. This meets different landscapes within the lot, which is itself divided into 30 squares with different functions: market and event plazas, pergola spaces, drinking fountains, playgrounds, sports spaces, parking lots and bus stops, but also tree-lined dunes, perennial gardens, tree-lined parterres, citrus groves, Mediterranean woods, playgrounds, rock gardens, grass fields, flower meadows and rustic lawns.
