The project proposes the sequence of parallel north-south walls that turn and adapt to the geometry of the site and the topography. The proposal blurs the transition between urbanity and the forest landscape of the site. The north-south orientation is seen as an opportunity. The facades respond differently depending on the orientation. The south builds a large façade able to take the sun in winter and a pleasant brise-soleil in summer expanding the living space towards the exterior. The north, with a predominance of opaque closure, incorporates two exceptions in relation to community rooftops; two shared spaces of flexible use that are located next to the roofs as a threshold between the building and the communal outdoor space.

Building

The project is committed to standardization, serialization, prefabrication and the industrialization of construction systems, generally using two materials: concrete and wood. Materials with great industrial and technological development, allowing cost and finish control.

– Prefabricated structure: Construction with screens and concrete panels allows us to reduce 40% of concrete compared to conventional slabs on this project.

– Prefabricated facade elements: optimization of the sections of the elements, better final control of the finishes and reduction of execution time. In addition, the use of precast concrete in façade reduces building maintenance in the future.

Units

Housing units are born from repetition, being a simple but very flexible typological set. Those units are facing two façaces and are accessible through a footbridge located on the south side; acting first as a filter and also as a semi-private exterior space. The directionality of the structure improves crossed ventilation.

The apartments stand out for their simplicity and the width of its pieces. Building spaces that allow more than one activity to be carried out. In fact, deshierarchy of the spaces and the construction of equal rooms allows the reversibility of the programs, not predetermining their function.
