The National Museum of Korean Literature presents itself as an artifact, as an invention, as an expression of an idea. The building becomes a sign of necessity that stands out above everyday life. Its clear geometry marks the boundary between culture and nature, the transition between city and landscape. The house for the National Museum of Korean Literature stands in the transition between city and landscape, culture and nature, and yet rises above it all. It strives for a strong image of the society and the universe, of the eternal quest of humankind for understanding the world and forming it after its own values. It is a representation of the always present ambivalence of reason and mystery.
