Situated in a place of confluence, the project for the completion, renovation and realisation of new sports and multifunctional spaces at the Gordola Middle School has as its fundamental premise the desire to become a collective infrastructure: a proper public flywheel. An area located in a plural context: didactics, sport, production and nature merge into a hinge that could become a new and relevant meeting point for human relations.

The logic of the distinctive features of the context and the pre-existing architectural features of the area has been recovered by working in continuity, with a view to a social infrastructure capable of keeping the new extension compact with the existing one to allow the eastern part of the area complete freedom of transformation in the years to come. The «Trilite» evokes the simple structure built in the form of a portal and the elementary nature of the theme of the threshold, the latter in this project declined, extended and understood as a public device capable of holding together different volumes but capable of triggering – once united as a whole – new intergenerational and «plural» spaces of aggregation and sharing.
