Refurbishment of a municipal facilities block in Sagrada Familia is a proposal by Taller 9s and Sumo Arquitectes for BIMSA in 2019. It is located in Barcelona Spain in an urban setting. Its scale is medium with a surface of 1.950 sqm a budget of 4.835.184 € and a ratio of 2.480 €/sqm. Key materials are concrete and wood. Graph collaborated as visualizer.

RE-DRESS the facility building with a new wrap that gives visibility and variability to the existing construction and defines the energetical and environmental strategy. The vertical rhythm unifies the intervention and relates it to the traditional composition of the facades of the Eixample neighbpurhood. This system defines the future way of acting for the whole facility block. A new «boulevard» that vertebrae the set of facilities connecting Mallorca street to Provença street and the inner courtyard of the block. A new walk through the city, spacious and with natural lighting, which allows access, crossed views and connection to the market and the different programmes. The new building takes advantage of the existing structure, taking the minimum actions to adapt to the new requirements. The building is organized from strips parallel to the dividing walls. The central strip incorporates the circulations and spaces of encounter. The partition walls expand and regulate with storage and tehcnical spaces. Among these strips, the program is developing flexibly and adaptively.
