Rjukan is a proposal by Robert Janson for Tinn Municipality designed in 2013. It is located in Rjukan Norway in an urban setting. Its scale is large. Key material is wood. Concepts such as roof and sloped roof are explored. Review the 2 proposals for the same competition.

The new square in Rjukan, Norway, is centrally located and surrounded by stunning nature. The square is designed to invite activity, life and year-around-useage. Rjukans new square is a place where everyone is welcome, residents and visitors, young and old. As you can see my idea was to use traditional methods and ways of making a square, but giving them a strong connection to the context. Both the estetics and the function is taken from well known qualities of the city Rjukan.
