Urban plan for San Fernando district is an honour mention proposal by Albert Clèries and Joaquim Mulà for CSCAE designed in 2012. It is located in Lorca Spain in an outskirt setting. Its scale is extralarge with a surface of 25.000 sqm. The concept of new development is explored.

San Fernando quarter is a residential area at the south east of Lorca. Due to the earthquake which took place in May 2011, most of its buildings were badly damaged. The urban and rural limits were redrawn to enhance the relationship between the city and its surrounding landscape. A new long axis was designed to connect both areas. New housing modules (3,75 x 15m) were designed to replace crumbled structures. The new block structure also focused on the need of decreasing the excess of public space, in consequence of the demolition of 5 entire blocks.
